BAUHAUS: SHE'S IN PARTIES

Bauhaus. An excellent goth/art rock band from the early 1980's. Peter Murphy's creepy undead David Bowie-esque vocals and Daniel Ash's (who would later form Love And Rockets) atmospheric, masterfully minimalist guitar playing are a perfect match. They released four full length albums and one live album throughout their career. I will post more on them later, but for now, I leave you with "She's In Parties". Enjoy.

Absolutely one of my favorite songs ever. Bauhaus is one of those bands I feel is greatly underappreciated due to their "goth" connection (damn you Bela Lugosi's Dead). I think this lumps them unfairly into a category they don't really fit in.

I agree. Many bands are stuck in the "goth" category whose sounds are more far reaching than what the genre has to offer. If I had to classify Bauhaus, "art rock" would do the best.

Yeah right on to all comments... however Peter and the guys did/do embrace their Godfather's of batcave rock status to a certain degree. Love those guys. L & R and Tones on Tail and Daniel's solo shit is all solid stuff.

Very happy to hear someone mention Tones on Tail. I was not aware of that band until a dearly departed friend introduced me to them. It is rather odd to hear them in commercials now though.
