Electric Wizard

Electric Wizard. Crushing psychedelic doom. These guys have been around for a while. My favorite two albums of theirs are "Dopethrone"(2000), and "Witchcult Today"(2008). "Dopethrone" is extremely heavy...some say it is the heaviest album of all time. Everything on the album is very fuzzed out and low, and the vocals are shouted....the way only way you can hear them over the guitars. The album has an earthy, Black Sabbath vibe...they know how tho get that sound and go with it and make it heavier. Their latest album "Witchcult Today" is much more melodic and well crafted than "Dopethrone". The vocals are much better, coming off as a cross between Ozzy and Danzig. The music is much more tuneful and well crafted. They used vintage equipment to record "Witchcult Today" and it shows....it sounds like it was recorded in the late '60's!

I highly recommend these guys. Go out and get "Witchcult Today" and "Dopethrone", and if you like those, try some of their other stuff.

Here's two of my favorite tracks, "The Satanic Rites of Drugula" and "Funeralopolis". Enjoy!
